چکیده
Almond canker diseases are destructive and can reduce the yield as well lifespan of almond orchards. These may affect trunk branches both young mature trees result in tree death soon after orchard establishment severe cases. Between 2015 2018, 70 orchards were visited throughout Central Valley California upon requests from farm advisors for disease diagnosis. Two major identified, including Botryosphaeriaceae cankers Ceratocystis canker. In addition, five less prevalent Cytospora, Eutypa, Diaporthe, Collophorina, Pallidophorina Seventy-four fungal isolates selected multilocus phylogenetic analyses internal transcribed spacer region ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 part translation elongation factor 1-?, ?-tubulin, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene sequences; 27 species 12 species, destructans, Cytospora Collophorina hispanica, four Diaporthe two Diatrype Eutypa lata, paarla. The most frequently isolated Neoscytalidium dimidiatum, californica. Pathogenicity experiments on cultivar Nonpareil revealed that Neofusicoccum parvum, arbuti, mediterraneum virulent. predominantly found symptoms trunks trees. was commonly associated with or large scaffold branches. This study provides a thorough examination diversity pathogenicity pathogens branch California.

متن کاملFungal trunk pathogens associated with wood decay of almond trees on Mallorca (Spain)
Severe decline of almond trees has recently been observed in several orchards on the island of Mallorca (Balearic Islands, western Mediterranean Sea). However, the identity of the causal agents has not yet been investigated. Between August 2008 and June 2010, wood samples from branches of almond trees showing internal necroses and brown to black vascular streaking were collected in the Llevant ...
متن کاملGeographical Distribution of Botryosphaeriaceae and Phomopsis/Diaporthe Canker Pathogens of Avocado in California
B and Phomopsis/Diaporthe (P/D) spp. are fungal pathogens known to cause cankers on a variety of woody hosts such as avocado, grapevine, almond, citrus, cherry, plum, mango, and coast live oak. On avocado (Persea americana Mill.), the disease came to be known as Dothiorella canker because the pathogen most often isolated at the time was known as Dothiorella gregaria (2). However, new research h...

Native Monterey pine (Pinus radiata D. Don) forests are currently found at three disjunct locations in coastal California and on two islands off the coast of Mexico. The mainland forests comprise, in total, approximately 4,500 ha (11), whereas the two island populations are limited to 150 ha on Cedros Island and fewer than 400 trees on Guadalupe Island (28). Collectively, these populations are ...

Fungal diseases are increasing among patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1. Infections due to Candida and Cryptococcus are the most common. Although mucocutaneous candidiasis can be treated with oral antifungal agents, increasing evidence suggests that prolonged use of these drugs results in both clinical and microbiologic resistance. The optimal therapy for cryptococ...
